| In absence of a perfect coffee grinder, you can not brew a perfect cup of coffee. The best type of mill for grinding coffee is made with burrs. Mills for home use have conical burrs that turns, a stationary conical plate, whereas Commercial mills have plate burrs which are fed from a hole in the center and grinds against a stationary plate.
Manual mills with conical burrs grind more slowly and which does not overheat the ground due to friction. Overheating occurs at electric mills due to continuous heating which changes the taste of coffee.
An Espresso uses very fine ground, a percolator uses very coarse while an automatic drip use ground which lies somewhere in between. |
